Free Crochet Pattern for Fuzzy Bonnet

Introducing the Fuzzy Bonnet crochet pattern! Last week I shared a pattern for Fuzzy Baby Booties, this week I’m sharing a free crochet pattern for a coordinating bonnet. These make the perfect accessory set in sizes newborn to 12 months. The bonnet closure has a strap with a button to avoid long, dangerous ties, but it’s easy to change up if you prefer the traditional tie look.

Just like with the booties, the trim changes the bonnet look and makes this the perfect bonnet design to adapt for boys or girls. A simple scalloped edge is so feminine in pink.

Add some furrylicious fake fur to frame the face and add a little luxurious warmth too. And, how cute is that pompom?

To make the basic bonnet, start with a chain long enough for the height of the recipient’s head from bottom of one ear over head and bottom of next eart. Work design in rows back and forth until bonnet is long enough to cover from the center back of the head to the front of the ear. Having the recipient’s measurements will allow for a perfect fit, but if not accessible, use my standard measurements.
